Eurofins Viracor (formerly IBT, founded in 1983) was among the first commercial labs to offer specialized allergy and immunology testing options not previously available such as Latex Sensitivity IVD, chronic urticarial (CU Index) testing and molecular component testing for Alpha-Gal, peanut, soy, egg and milk.

Viracor utilizes ImmunoCAP® and allergen-specific IgE enzyme immunoassays as the primary testing modes for your allergy diagnosis. These methods are intended for in vitro diagnostic use as an aid in the clinical diagnosis of antibody-mediated allergic disorders in conjunction with other clinical findings.

Turn to Eurofins Viracor for over 2,000 different allergy tests, some of which are highly esoteric and not performed at other commercial labs. Identify the cause of your patient’s reaction with testing for adverse drug reactions, as well as food and environmental allergens.

Do you have custom allergen needs?

We manufacture 100+ unique discs for allergens not otherwise commercially available, and have the ability to create custom allergy panels, typically within weeks, giving you the edge on allergy diagnosis.

Evaluate Adverse Drug Reactions with BasoFunction™ HRT Testing

In patients with a history of adverse drug reactions and for whom skin testing or in vitro specific IgE testing is not available or appropriate, consider the benefits of BasoFunction HRT testing. The Basophil Activation Test assesses the ability of the patient’s basophils to release histamine when activated by a non-specific stimulus, formyl-methionyl-leucyl-phenylalanine (fMLP). The BasoFunction test measures histamine released in vitro following challenge with the suspected allergen. Evaluate over 60 BasoFunction targets:

  • Analgesics
  • Anesthetics
  • Antibiotics
  • Food Additives
  • Contrast Media
  • And Others

Get the Complete Picture with Molecular Component Testing

Molecular components are a great way to take allergy diagnosis to the next level by diving into allergy severity as well as potential cross-reactivity.

These siblings have an allergy. Could one of them have a life-threatening reaction?

As you know, 90% of food allergies are caused by milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, soy and wheat.  Knowing which components your patients might be allergic to is critical to their individual allergen treatment and management. Get the facts with Viracor's molecular component testing, most with results reported in one to two days from specimen receipt.

Molecular Peanut Component Diagnostics Differentiate Peanut Allergic from Peanut Sensitized Patients

Peanut allergy is one of the most common food allergies, affecting approximately 1% of the US population, and the prevalence of peanut allergy is thought to be increasing. In allergic individuals, anaphylaxis following exposure to peanuts can be fatal, requiring these individuals to carry epinephrine injectors at all times...
